                  Football is a sport that is loved throughout the world by people of all ages. This is one such game that brings people of all types together. Regularly playing football is a great way to get a full body workout and stay fit. It also helps in maintaining reflexes in the body that are required for daily activities such as walking and maintaining body balance.

               With the love for the game people also love the players that make this game much more interesting to look at. Here are a few legends of football that are highly respected and fondly remembered for their style and skill they portrayed while playing football.

1) Pele -

       Pele is a retired professional Brazilian football player who played as a forward on the field. He is considered as the greatest football player of all time. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics voted Pele as the “World Player of the Century” in 1999. He was also elected as the “Athlete of the Century” by the International Olympic Committee. Pele has scored 650 goals in 694 league matches and 1281 goals in 1363 games.  He was also a Humanitarian who in September of 2018 announced that he is launching “The Pele Foundation.” This charity will benefit organizations around the world and their efforts to empower children, specifically related to poverty and education.

2) Diego Armando Maradona -

      Diego Armando Maradona is a retired Argentinian professional football player and the current manager of Mexico's second division called as Dorados. He was given the nickname as “The Golden Boy”  due to his extremely good dribbling skills and control over the ball. Maradona was the first player to set the world record transfer fee twice, first when he transferred to Barcelona for 5 million euros and the second, when he moved to Napoli for 6.9 million euros. During his club career, he played for Argentinos Junior, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla and Newell’s Old Boys. Despite all these clubs he is famous for his time playing with Napoli and Barcelona.

 3) David Beckham -

     David Robert Joseph Beckham is a retired professional football player. He has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, LA Galaxy, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and the England National team. He has won 19 major trophies in 20 years of his career. He is the first English player to win league titles in 4 countries. He has been regarded as the “British Cultural Icon”. He is highly known for his passing and bending free tricks. Since, he retired from his football career he has become a successful businessman, model, and a spokesperson. He is respected and adored by his fans for his football skills and due to his excellent fashion sense.
